Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my debit card to charge the hotel's incidental deposit?
Yes, you can - but we strongly suggest not using it.
Hotels charge an incidental deposit (or security deposit) during check-in. If you hand out your credit card, they put a hold to cover any incidentals to it. If you use your debit card, the amount is freezed in your account and you will not be able to use it when you go shopping or when you do cash advances in any ATM. It may take days (or weeks) for the hotel's accounting office to lift the hold or freeze in your card.
Word of advice: use credit cards - or if you have extra cash, use cash as incidental deposit.
